Double Glazed Sealed Units

We Repair and Replace Double Glazed Units

A number of homes are now fitted with double glazing. We therefore receive many enquiries about misted up double glazing or broken glass. Double glazed windows now need maintaining due to old age or damage caused to them and this is why we are here to help you.

There are many factors that contribute to the misting up of double glazed sealed units. One of these factors can be temperature conditions. If a double glazed sealed unit is fitted somewhere that it is exposed to hot and cold temperatures all of the time, then in theory this can shorten the lifespan of the materials used to seal it (expansion and contraction of materials). Also another contributing factor can be the UPVC window frames that the double glazed units are fitted within. For example, if the frames allow rain to penetrate below the beading (poorly fitted beading or worn gasket rubber), than the double glazed unit may be sitting in water which can make the double glazed unit less effective and shorten the life of materials that seal it. Also, poor construction of the double glazed sealed unit may also be a contributing factor. And mainly, the reason for most double glazed units misting up is simply old age.

So if you have a double glazed sealed unit in your property and it needs replacing then we have a lot of experience in carrying out repairs. We replace all types of glass whether it is clear, frosted, leaded, toughened, Pilkington K, or laminate. Leave it to us. We will simply visit your property and measure up then give you a quote. If you are happy with the quote, we will agree a convenient time to return to your property and remove the old glass and install the new glass. The majority of double glazed windows are very simple to work with. Therefore, we will normally aim to be in and out of your home before you know it.

Also for your piece of mind, all of our double glazed sealed units have a 5 year misting up guarantee.
